2014 Marie Ann Vos Music Leadership Award winner: Ed Hall

The McHenry County Music Center’s 2014 Marie Ann Vos Music Leadership Award winner: Ed Hall

Ed has been very active not only as a performer but also as a teacher and a producer of musical activities in McHenry County for over 40 years. His “Ed Hall’s Guitar Night” at the Woodstock Opera House has been a “sold out” event since 1995. Over 50 of the most accomplished guitarists from around the country have come to Woodstock to perform with Ed on stage. He recently won GigMasters “Best of 2012” for his guitar performances at numerous venues around the Midwest. He has produced over 200 shows at the Woodstock Opera House through his “William Tell Productions” company which has brought Arlo Guthrie, The Kingston Trio, Rita Coolidge and Don McLean (among others) to the area.

Ed is an accomplished guitarist and banjo player and has taught many students over the years. He also volunteers his time by sharing his musical talents for numerous fund raising events around McHenry County.

Ed Hall exemplifies what it means to be the 2014 MAV Leadership Award winner and MCMC is proud to have presented this award to Mr. Hall on MCYO’s Pops Concert on 23 February 2014.

Thank you, Ed Hall, for sharing your talents and passions with so many and keeping the music alive!!
